A reckoned Punjabi artist from the music industry, Diljit Dosanjh also work as an actor and television presenter.

Age and Height:

Diljit’s birthday falls on 6th day of January. Born in the year 1984, Diljit is 35 years old (as of 2018). His height is 5 feet and 9 inches.

Marriage/Relationship:

Diljit Dosanjh is married to Sandeep Kaur.

Family:

Diljit hails from Jalandhar in Punjab. He is the son of Balbir Singh Dosanjh and Sukhwinder Kaur. His father was employed under Punjab Roadways. On the other hand, his mother, Sukhwinder Kaur is a house-wife. Diljit Dosanjh has two siblings (one sister and brother). His brother’s name is Manjeet Singh.

Career:

Diljit Dosanjh accomplished his schooling education. He was an alumnus of Shri Guru Harkrishan Public School (Ludhiana). While he was enjoying the golden days of his schooling education, he stepped in his singing profession. He participated in much religious music of Sikhs in gurudwara.
The period from 2003 to 2004, was the time for Diljit Dosanjh to step in professional singing. In the year 2004, he came ahead with his first album titled Ishq Da Uda Ada. With the assistance of Rajinder Singh (Finetone Cassettes) was the one to push Diljit in the Punjab Music Industry. He was the only one to recommend him to undergo a name change from Daljit to his present name Diljit. In the same year, his second album titled Dil was out.
The period from 2004 to 2010, witnessed a massive release of both mix and single tapes from him. Smile, Ishq Ho Gaya, Chocolate, was his next albums that came out during this period. In around 2009, Diljit moved towards single releases such as Bhagat Singh, Power of Duets, No Tension, and Dance with Me.
In 2011-2012, Diljit Dosanjh stepped in Punjabi movies. The Lion of Punjab was his debut film, which was released at the box office in the year 2011 and was not a success. However, his track titled Lak 28 Kudi Da went on to become a massive hit. Jinhe Mera Dil Luteya (2011) was his second release from the Punjabi Film Industry. In 2011 itself, he came ahead with three different single releases titled as Catty Eyes, Dharti, and the final Chustiyan.
From 2012, destiny turned its successful face towards Diljit Dosanjh. He contributed his voice for a soundtrack of Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya. This track was released in the year 2012. Diljit’ third Punjabi movie was Saadi Love Story and was released in 2013. In August, he released Proper Patola (music video).
By 2016, Diljit turned down towards social drama. Udta Punjab was his first ever contribution towards Hindi Film Industry. He next featured in Phillauri starring Anushka Sharma and Suraj Sharma. Diljit endorsed brands such as Coca-Cola and Flipkart. He even represented the 4th season of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi where he sang its theme song.

Controversies:

Diljit rose to controversial fame when some of his female followers criticized his songs for being vulgar. There was an income-tax raid at Diljit’s house somewhere in December 2012.

Favorites:

Diljit Dosanjh is a die-heart lover of Punjabi food such as Sarson Ka Saag, Makki Ki Roti. He praises the acting skills of Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt. Gurdas Mann, Arijit Singh, and Sunidhi Chauhan are some of his favorite singers.

Awards:

There are many awards and recognitions bagged in by Diljit Dosanjh. Here are some of his special awards:
Brit Asia TV Music Awards for Best International Act for 2013 and 2014. In the year 2017, he won three awards under Filmfare awards (Best Debut Actor Male, Best Actor Male, and Best Playback Singer). He was titled as Stylish Icon of the Year by Colors Golden Petal Awards in the same year.

Lak 28 Kudi Da went on to be a significant hit featuring Honey Singh. He rose to fame with his acting skills after his extraordinary contribution to Jatt and Juliet. He dishonors the presence of explicit lyrics in any of his songs.
