The weekly Indian box office report for week ending November 10, 2019 is out. Right after holiday season in India, the past couple of months have seen quite a lot of big movie releases in India, concentrated mostly from Bollywood. Whether be it Akshay Kumar's big budget slapstick comedy Housefull 4 or Ayushmann Khurrana's script-driven Bala, here are the top movie releases and their box office collections for India.
Bala is the latest Bollywood movie released in Indian movie theaters this weekend. The movie, with a strong script and a good actor cast, opened to big numbers at the Indian box office. In fact, Bala is the biggest opener for Ayushmann Khurrana with first day gross set at Rs 10.15 crores, increasing to Rs 15 crores on Saturday.
More than two weeks after its release, Housefull 4 is going strong at the Indian box office. The Akshay Kumar-starrer made Rs 46.5 crores in its opening weekend, followed by almost Rs 130 crores in the first week, and about Rs 35 crores in the second week. The movie has now crossed Rs 180 crores in India collections, and Rs 250 crores worldwide.
Having been in a release date war with Bala, Ujda Chaman was released on November 1 in India, much to the disappointment of the audience. In the first five days, Ujda Chaman has only been able to collect about Rs 8.9 crores at the Indian box office, with about Rs 85 lakhs on the fifth day.
Saand Ki Aankh
Much like Housefull 4, it's been about two weeks since Saand Ki Aankh released in Indian theaters. In the first week, the movie grossed about 11.68 crores, while the second week saw the movie making about Rs 8.37 crores. This puts the total collections to more than Rs 20.05 crores, with earnings dropping below the Rs 60 lakhs mark on a day-to-day basis.
War is one of the biggest Hindi releases this year. The movie made about Rs 240 crores in its first week, Rs 49 crores in the second week, Rs 21 crores in the third week, Rs 5 crores in Week 4, and Rs 2.37 crores in Week 5, bringing total India gross to Rs 317 crores.
