The Indian box office in January 2020 started off with a bang as three major movie releases made sure audiences enjoyed their time at the movies. From Rajinikanth's first for the year, Darbar, to Ajay Devgn's 100th movie, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, and Deepika Padukone's acid attack story, Chhapaak, here is a weekly roundup of the Indian box office to show which movie made how much money last week.

Chhapaak Indian box office collection

Chhapaak was slightly disappointing at the Indian box office as it failed to make an impact in the first weekend of release. Chhapaak grossed more than Rs 19 crores in the first 3 days - starting with a meager Rs 4.77 crores on Friday, climbing on to Rs 6.9 crores on Saturday and Rs 7.35 crores on the first Sunday.

Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior Indian box office collection

Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior was the big release of the last weekend as it started off with Rs 15.1 crore box office collection on Friday, going upto Rs 26 crores on Sunday. The presence of Ajay Devgn and a solid theme has helped the movie gross more than Rs 61.75 crores.

Darbar Indian box office collection

Alongside major Bollywood releases Chhapaak and Tanhaji, Darbar is also minting big money at the Indian as well as the international box office. For the weekend ending January 12, 2020, Darbar became the fifth biggest movie at worldwide box office with $21.2 million or about Rs 150 crores in collections.

Good Newwz Indian box office collection

Good Newwz is continuing its dream run well into the third week of release in India. With collections of Rs 2.07 crore on Friday, Rs 3.06 crores on Saturday, and Rs 3.6 crores on Sunday, the movie brought its Indian box office numbers to Rs 190 crores.

Jumanji: The Next Level Indian box office collection

Jumanji: The Next Level was a runaway Hollywood hit at the Indian box office. The Dwayne Johnson-starrer managed to stretch its earnings to more than Rs 55 crores in India, making it a bigger hit than many Hindi movies.
