According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, upcoming Bollywood movie Chehre will likely go straight to Disney+ Hotstar VIP. The report quoted a trade source who revealed that Disney+ Hotstar has won a heated battle to secure streaming rights for Chehre.

It also goes on to say that a huge check was signed for Chehre, which stars Rhea Chakraborty, possibly the most popular actress in Bollywood right now. And not for all the best reasons.

That said, publicity is still publicity. Despite the reason you are in the news, Rhea Chakraborty is a household name now. And showing a feature film with her face on it can potentially attract millions of viewers.

While taking advantage of the situation could be called unethical, the show business is based on this idea. While the movie might have big stars including Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi, Rhea is undoubtedly the biggest name today.

Despite this report, there has been no confirmation from the producers or Disney+ Hotstar on this collaboration.

Chehre was earlier set for a theatrical release on April 24, 2020. However, it got delayed to July 17, and then indefinitely, due to cinema shutdowns during COVID-19 pandemic.
