Netflix India is reportedly testing a new subscription plan that it calls the "Mobile+" plan. Priced at ₹350 per month, it is said to offer more features and better quality than the current Mobile plan, and will be placed below the existing Basic plan that was first introduced at launch in India back in 2016. Read on to know more about Netflix India's new HD Mobile+ subscription plan that is priced at just ₹350 per month.

Netflix India Mobile+ HD subscription plan

According to a report by Android Pure, Netflix is testing the new Mobile+ plan that brings in additional features when compared to the Mobile plan, at higher pricing.

The Mobile+ Plan will allow you to watch Netflix movies and TV shows on phones, tablets, and even on computers. However, casting to or streaming on TV will not be allowed as part of this plan.

Other than that, while the limit of 1 concurrent stream on 1 device at a time is there, users will be able to stream in HD (High Definition).

"We launched the Mobile Plan in India to make it easier for anyone with a smartphone to enjoy Netflix. We want to see if members like the added choice this offer brings. We’ll only roll it out long-term if they do," Netflix replied to Android Pure in a statement.

However, Netflix does not mention whether that includes 1080p streams or just 720p. That said, it is still higher than the SD 480p cap on the low-priced Mobile plan.

Netflix has been having trouble in scaling operations in India with just a few lakh paid subscribers in the several years of its operation.

That, combined with the response to its original content, are big deterrents in its fight against players like Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ Hotstar.

Both of these competitors have relatively cheaper subscription plans and offer similar combination of Indian and international content.

Netflix 199 mobile plan vs Netflix 799 plan for 4 users: Which one should you go for?

Last year, Netflix unveiled its Mobile plan priced at ₹199 per month in a hope to lure in mobile users looking for cheaper alternatives.

Today, with the launch of Mobile+, Netflix India is looking at leveraging the same subscribers to come on to a better, higher quality plan that gives them the freedom to view on their computer screens too.

Apart from Mobile and Mobile+, Netflix India has its three generalised plans - Basic, Standard, and Premium - priced at ₹499, ₹699, and ₹799. These plans offer similar benefits as they do in the US and other markets.
