Marvel just dropped the first teaser trailer of Black Widow, the studio's first film in MCU Phase 4. The story of this mysterious Avengers character is unknown in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the upcoming film might help solve a lot of that. Black Widow is set right after the events of Captain America: Civil War, when Natasha Romanoff is on the run. In case you are confused after watching Black Widow trailer, and are wondering as to who the characters are, don't worry here's some help.

Black Widow

Obviously, Black Widow aka Natasha Romanoff is the main protagonist in this one. After betraying the US Army and helping Captain America escape, we see Black Widow running away from the authorities. The trailer shows her going to Budapest, where she reunites with her old group.

Yelena Belova

Yelena Belova is seen for the first time in Black Widow trailer, as Black Widow addresses her as "sister". However, in the comics, Belova is not Natasha's blood sister but a good friend from her training days.

In fact, we see the both of them fighting, which could be because Yelena was once sent to kill Natasha as she was the successor to Black Widow's character in Marvel Comics.

Red Guardian

Next up, we see David Harbour (Stranger Things) playing Alexei Shostakov or Red Guardian. Interestingly, while many might think that Shostakov is Natasha's dad, the comics suggest that they might be a married couple instead.

Black Widow and Red Guardian were both trained as Soviet agents, and the latter was actually pitted against Captain America as Soviet's answer to the American supersoldier.

Iron Maiden

In the teaser trailer, we also see a brief look at Melina Vostokoff. While the trailer doesn't show much of her, her appearance matches that of Iron Maiden, a prominent character in the Marvel Comics.

Iron Maiden has a figure-hugging exoskeleton that gives her additional powers. Much like the others, Iron Maiden was also trained in the Red Room and was a part of the Femizonia group in the comics.

And, finally, we see Taskmaster, the supposed villain who has the bow and arrow. Taskmaster is a Marvel comic villain who has photographic reflexes and can easily mimic the actions of his opponents. We see him fighting with Red Guardian. It could be hard to take on a villain with these unique superpowers.
