Sushant Singh Rajput passed away this month and the incident has rattled the country. A relatively new actor, Sushant had quickly risen to the top with some great performances in movies like MS Dhoni, Kai Po Che! and Chhichhore. His last film, Dil Bechara has now been confirmed to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar from July 24. His last Bollywood film will be a digital exclusive and won't be releasing in theaters.
Interestingly, we reported last year that, after Drive, Dil Bechara might become Sushant Singh's next to go straight to digital.
The movie is directed by Mukesh Chhabra, who makes his debut in Bollywood with it. Earlier set for release in late November 2019, Dil Bechara release in India was pushed to May 08, 2020. But the Coronavirus pandemic put a question mark to that decision.
The movie is backed by Fox Studios in India, and thus the decision to choose Disney+ Hotstar becomes understandable. Fox and Hotstar are both owned by Disney.
If we are to go by the Hollywood movie or the John Green book it's based on, Dil Bechara will show the story of a girl with a chronic ailment meeting a boy who teaches her how to live her life to the fullest.
Sushant Singh Rajput's demise has come as a shock for the movie's team as well as the entire film fraternity in India. It remains to be seen as to when Dil Bechara would be released on Disney+ Hotstar after this development.
